It's true that the Raiders have done little to help JaMarcus Russell develop, but he does not appear to understand how poorly he is playing and fails to grasp the importance of preparation for games.

Gradkowski, Bruce (QB)
Posted Nov. 18, 2009 @ 5:01 p.m.
Gradkowski will get the starting nod Sunday against Cincinnati as the Raiders have had enough of former No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell - for now.
This will be just the second start for Gradkowski since 2006. He started one game last year in Cleveland and 11 games as a rookie for Tampa Bay in 2006. Gradkowski is 17 for 30 for 163 yards and two interceptions. It's unlikely that Gradkowski can do worse than Russell did, though there's certainly no reason to own him on your fantasy team.
Russell, JaMarcus (QB)
Posted Nov. 18, 2009 @ 5:01 p.m.
The Oakland Raiders are benching Russell, handing the starting job to Bruce Gradkowski.
Coach Tom Cable said after practice Wednesday that Gradkowski will get the nod Sunday against Cincinnati. Cable says the plan is for Gradkowski to start the rest of the season. Cable has pulled Russell, the former top overall draft pick, for ineffectiveness in two of the past three games. No Raiders quarterback should be considered as a viable fantasy option at this point.
Heyward-Bey, Darrius (WR)
Posted Nov. 16, 2009 @ 5:42 p.m.
Heyward-Bey had one catch for 22 yards Sunday in a 16-10 loss to the Chiefs.
It is tough to determine whether Heyward-Bey or quarterback JaMarcus Russell is a bigger bust for the stumbling Raiders. Heyward-Bey has six receptions for the season, and the No. 7 overall pick is proving why scouting experts felt he was a reach as the top receiver chosen in the draft. Needless to say, he has yet to reach the end zone.
Bush, Michael (RB)
Posted Nov. 16, 2009 @ 5:40 p.m.
Bush rushed for 119 yards on 14 carries Sunday in a 16-10 loss to Kansas City.
Bush has not gained much yardage this season and it is likely that this performance was more of an aberration until proven otherwise.
Russell, JaMarcus (QB)
Posted Nov. 16, 2009 @ 5:33 p.m.
Raiders coach Tom Cable is staying mum about his starting quarterback after Russell was poor in Sunday's 16-10 loss at Oakland. Russell started the Raiders' first nine games but was benched late in the third quarter of Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs after going 8 for 23 for 64 yards.
Bruce Gradkowski replaced Russell and went 5 of 9 for 49 yards and two interceptions but strained a hamstring.Neither QB is an answer in fantasy.
