The Giants' defense could get a big lift if CB Aaron Ross, OLB Michael Boley and DT Chris Canty all can return, stay healthy and make significant contributions down the stretch.

Pierce, Antonio (LB)
Posted Nov. 20, 2009 @ 8:23 p.m.
Pierce is out indefinitely after an MRI exam surprisingly revealed a bulging disk in his neck.
The 31-year-old Pierce originally sustained a burner when the Giants played Arizona on Oct. 25. He had very little discomfort until practice this week, when the club's medical staff scheduled the MRI exam. The Giants (5-4) host the Atlanta Flacons on Sunday. New York, coming off its bye week, has lost four straight games.
Smith, Steve (WR)
Posted Nov. 09, 2009 @ 5:34 p.m.
Smith had eight catches for 57 yards and a touchdown Sunday in the Giants' stunning 21-20 loss to San Diego.
It was the first score since Week 4 for Smith, who still qualifies as one of the NFL's biggest fantasy surprises. He's had eight catches each in his last two games, though, so perhaps he's starting to come around from a mini-slump.
Jacobs, Brandon (RB)
Posted Nov. 09, 2009 @ 5:32 p.m.
Jacobs had 11 carries for 67 yards Sunday in the Giants' stunning 21-20 loss to San Diego.
Jacobs hasn't topped 100 yards this season and has only scored twice, turning a player who was thought to be fantasy mainstay into a major question mark in the backfield.
Manning, Eli (QB)
Posted Nov. 09, 2009 @ 5:31 p.m.
Manning was 25 of 33 for 215 yards with two touchdowns, but the Giants lost 21-20 to the Chargers on Sunday.
Manning played about as well as he could, but the Giants lost their fourth in a row. He's still a risky fantasy play late in the season, particularly in the Meadowlands, where he's struggled with the elements in the past.
Wilkinson, Gerris (LB)
Posted Nov. 08, 2009 @ 5:42 p.m.
Wilkinson will be sidelined up to two months following surgery to repair a dislocated right wrist.
Wilkinson was hurt in the second half of the Giants' 21-20 loss to the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. The fourth-year pro had a team-high 12 special teams tackles, including on the opening kickoff of the second half.
