The sense I get is that John Fox, barring a total collapse down the stretch, will be the Panthers' coach next season. What his coaching staff looks like is another matter.

Just got off the phone with agent Derrick Fox, who represents Panthers WR Steve Smith, and he is happy to report that Smith is fine after getting into a little fender bender on the way to the game tonight.

Without knowing what Falcons head coach Mike Smith said during a near riot on the Falcons' sideline Sunday, I still don't take much issue with the coach's involvement. Blame DeAngelo Hall if you want to point fingers.

Losing CB Marlin Jackson, one of the better zone corners in the NFL, for the season was a blow. A day later, the news gets worse: ever-injured Bob Sanders also is gone.
