It's Packers-Vikings at Lambeau in Week One, plus other games

Pretty good opening week shaping up here ...

The NFL just announced that it will be Vikings at Packers on Monday. Think the QB battle will be interesting? It's expected to be Tarvaris Jackson against Aaron Rodgers. Two guys who either will be very good or could be looking for work elsewhere after next season.

The other national games are Bears at Colts on Sunday night (NBC) and Broncos at Raiders (ESPN; second Monday night game as part of their "doubleheader"). Expect the Patriots to be one of the national CBS games for one of the two time slots. Their most intriguing opponents this season are home against the Steelers and away against the Colts, Chargers and  Seahawks.

We'll find out soon ...

Also, just got off the phone with George Clooney, who's promoting "Leatherheads," which has cropped up in the blog the past few weeks. I'll post my Q&A with him -- heck of a nice guy, by the way -- sometime tomorrow I think.

Keep checking back!
