Friday will be Q&A day

MOBILE, Ala. -- So far, so good here. Town is nice, kind of like a miniature New Orleans downtown, and the seafood has been as advertised. Tomorrow, I am looking forward to getting some barbeque with a high-school friend who is coming in town.

One thing this town needs is a good classic rock station. If I hear "Dude Looks Like A Lady" or "Love Shack" one more time I am going to stab myself in the eyeballs.

Thursday's practices were relatively non-eventful, with both clubs running through drills in shorts and helmets. The highlight of the day was Cal WR Lavelle Hawkins dropping an easy pass -- maybe his first of the week -- and dropping to do 20 push-ups. Reminiscent of Major League. Good stuff.

Friday is just a walk-through, too, so there won't be much to report. I have talked to more than 20 players this week after practice, and I have published some of that here and elsewhere on the site, but I thought I would print up the best of the rest that I haven't gotten around to sharing with you guys.

So I'll have mini-Q&As with several players that I'll put up throughout the day. I'll also try to grab a few more guys after the short walk-throughs, but the players visit with the kids at the Children's Hospital tomorrow and have a pretty tight schedule.

And we'll do something short on the game too on Saturday.

Thanks for reading all week. It has been fun.
