Speaking of the Steelers, I just got off the phone with CB Ike Taylor a few hours ago. He told me that he and his teammates have intentionally avoided reading what the media is saying about the Steelers' chances. "We know what we expect of ourselves," Taylor said, "and we know that the other teams we play are quite aware of us. That's all we care about."
Taylor also said that Mike Tomlin, the first time the two spoke after he got the job, challenged Taylor to put last season behind him and know that he'll get a fair crack in training camp to win the job. So far, Tomlin has proved to be prophetic. Taylor again is starting and beginning to show the swagger he did in 2005, when he picked a pass off in the Super Bowl and generally had a great season.
"I am back, I feel good," Taylor said. "I want to be the best at my job, like Champ Bailey. He's the hottest thing going. I have always worked hard, and I think I can get to Champ's level if I keep going."

It's implied that their is respect if not fear of the Steelers around the league. I travel around the country in my work and other than optimistic Stiller fans, most of the rest of the country believe the Steelers are well...a second level, 7-9 team. Frankly what won the Super Bowl was an under dog we will show you attitude. Since winning however every one thinks this club is good. Remember they were a 6th seed and by the skin of an inprobable some say just lucky late year run. Last year Ike couldn't cover some 3rd string receivers, and I have the video clips to prove it, much less be walking around with SWAGGER. Give me a break. That cover stuff was sold to the media by his agent to get that fat salary he isn't worth. And you all have bought it. Read some unbiased reporting from around the country.

Hey there Ed. You must have had one too many to drink. You are no Steeler fan and seem biased. The last time I checked the year before the amazing run of beating the 1,2,3 away, and 1 (Never been done in NFL history), the Steelers were 15-1 and 1-1 in the playoffs. This is no 7-9 2nd year team. You're an idiot if you think the Superbowl year was lucky. The Steelers were 11-5 with Ben Roethlisberger missing 4 games. With Ben starting we all know they were 9-3. Beating the 1,2,3 on the road is no luck. Posting a QB rating of over 120 in 3 straight away playoff games is no luck. Last year the lowly Chiefs got in the playoffs at 9-7. THAT IS LUCK!
Funny how when all these idiot announcers and sports experts talk about the Steelers and Big Ben, and rag on Big Ben no one ever mentions in just 3 years he has gone to 2 championship games, and been to won 1 superbowl. Currently sits with a 90+ QB rating, 60%+ CP, and is 5-1 lifetime in the playoffs. Get off his jock! So he'll have a great year this year and all you peckerwoods will say how he's had 3 amazing years out of 4, and is one of the best young Qbs ever again. Please get off us REAL STEELER FANS BANDWAGON. We don't want any of you fools.
